• SupaDec Methylated Spirit is also commonly known as Meths, Denatured Alcohol or Ethanol (Ethyl Alcohol). This product contains a small amount of Methanol and purple dye to make it unfit for human consumption.

Methylated Spirits (Meths) can be used to thin spirit-based stains, varnishes and paints and degrease extractive-rich woods. Furniture restorers and French polishers use Methylated Spirits for cleaning, removing wax and stripping furniture, as well as mixing with French polishes when finishing fine furniture. Meths is also an effective cleaner for painting and wood finishing equipment such as brushes and applicators.

Other Uses
In addition to wood finishing, Methylated Spirit is also commonly used as fuel in Meths burners on boats or for outdoor heating and cooking.

Meths can also be used as an effective household cleaner for windows and whiteboards. Mix a solution of 50% Methylated Spirit with 50% water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the window or whiteboard and clean off with a paper kitchen towel for smear-free cleaning. This is particularly good for removing permanent marker pen that has been mistakenly used on whiteboards.
