You can still make purchases online while we are closed. We’ll process all orders as soon as we return.

By Boat

You’ll find Talbot Wharf between Bridges 62 & 63 on the Shropshire Union Canal at Market Drayton.

There’s space for you to pull alongside our wharf plus there are plenty of visitor moorings close by.

By Road

Talbot Wharf is 500 metres from the A53/Newcastle Road junction. (We’re marked on the map to the right). We have plenty of customer parking.

The Arriva bus between Stoke-on-Trent and Shrewsbury stops right outside our gate. Both towns have a main-line rail station.

We have plenty of parking for our shop and mooring customers. 

We charge a small fee for overnight or longer term parking. Please ask in the shop.

Bikes – we have a bike rack close to the shop.

Disabled parking – there is a disabled parking space by the shop window.

When the shop is closed the gate is locked and there is no access to the car park. 

We welcome well behaved dogs in our shop. If you want to leave your dog outside while you shop we have a dog mooring point outside, and there’s always clean water available.

The boats moored at Talbot Wharf are privately owned and may be occupied, so please respect their privacy . The visitor moorings are within easy reach where there are always plenty of boats to see along the towpath in either direction.  

Yes! The towpath is perfect for walking and Talbot Wharf is an excellent starting point.

Please ask in the shop about walks from our wharf. There are linear and circular routes of various lengths nearby.
